Below are a few comments in regarding what makes a top personal trainer Barbican. Are they the ones with best website SEO? The ones with all the reviews? Or the celebrity trainers?
Unfortunately Google is unable to differentiate between a good business and a bad business. It can only see in all its wisdom a good website and a bad one. When i see some of the businesses that rank on page 1 of Google for major search terms like “London personal trainer” for example, it concerns me that it doesn’t have a better system for sorting the good from the bad.
The standard is becoming greater between the better trainers and the worst ones. The gap is increasing like the one between the rich and the poor for example.
Top personal trainers don’t stop educating themselves or refining their trade. I myself do it because i hate not knowing the answer to a question that a client may ask. So to avoid the “…um, uh …” scenario or the “…i thinks its because of this…” I read and study as much as my free time will allow. I pride myself on generally knowing the answer to a query or question by a client regarding the human body.

Other industries now have web based review sites where you can write a review regarding the work or purchase you received for example. This is great. I have used it several times myself and the first thing i look at is how many reviews and the stars they have been awarded for service and attention to detail etc. If we could bring this over to my industry i would be a very happy PT. We do have it in a way with Google places and other sites that you can have reviews written about yourself and your business. But a completely independent review system as well – would be great. Kind of like what happens with hotel and restaurant reviews the AA guide or Rosette etc. Something that is an independent sign of trust, quality of service and result.
What is a celebrity personal trainer? Does it mean they are the best? Does it f@@k!
It means they were either introduced to said celebrity and the celeb needed a trainer. Or the trainer has a PR agent and they were put together through those connection avenues. Strip away the celebrities credentials and they are a human being, subject to all the other fitness, strength and fat loss restraints that anyone else would have. So its down to the skill level of the trainer to work out that individuals body puzzle. The trainers i have seen that use the term as a sign of status – generally have a poor skill level and hide it behind the fact they are “celeb trainers” so they are probably thinking ….. i must be good, look who i train?
In conclusion what i’m saying is trainers know your trade inside out, get your client from A to B with a bad ass result in-between. Potential clients seek out and research your trainer “… what always glitters is not gold …”
